Poem: Deserving

I am at peace for
having to heal from
things that were not my fault
that I did not deserve.

Being at peace means
I will now not accept less than I deserve
I will not continue having to heal
because you won’t.

My healing is mine to own
the consequence is
now I know I deserve more
I will not allow people access to me
who do not know this.

I am reminding myself and you.
You are deserving.
